  1. Hi Dan,

I found your new site while doing some genealogy-related googling and I expect to be a frequent visitor as you add material. I'm researching the descendants of Michael McKern/McCarn (my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather, maternal side), who settled in Rowan County sometime before the 1790 census and died there ~1822. Other associated surnames include Pippenger, Peacock, Palmer, and Hendricks.

One of these days I intend to look up my Leonard ancestors (paternal side), who also happened to be in Rowan in the late 1700/early 1800s.

I'm wondering how you've set up your site--specifically, the static image under the scrolling text.

If you're interested, my site is http://www.mckerngenealogy.com/. I am in the process of updating the genealogy software, so the appearance of the site will likely change sometime this week.

    Looking forward to future visits.

    Bridget
